Media Analysis Assignment

Rip! A Remix Manifesto is a documentary about how copyright should not be illegal. The film shows bias because most, if not all, citizens want to pass copyright as legal and the people higher power want to make money from the lower powers that do copyright. Girl Talk, for example should not be sued for what he does because he changes the music that people download illegally so much that you almost can't recognize it. The files he has created are used without permission but Girl Talk is also promoting those artists to the people he plays for.

This filmmaker uses Appeal to Authority by saying Larry Lessig supported their opinion. Larry is an experienced lawyer that has supported many cases like this one. he argues that using these mash ups is like writing and essay and putting everything together.
Conflict also played a huge part in this film. Other people argue with Lessig because putting words together in an essay, like he says, could be considered plagiarism.

This topic could effect our world drastically and has. If copyright becomes legal drawing artists could expand their work and music artists could mashup more songs without consent. What would lyrics sound like? What would happen to the lawyers and business corporations who sue for copyright? What would advertisements and commercials look like? Would this effect us at all? Or could it change our world dramatically?
